Hee, so pretty~~! This is really just an experiment; I've got a cool drawing I'm working on, and I wanted to know what it would look like to 'ink' with prismacolors without worrying about messing up. This started as a really messy black and white sketchy thing for an art project involving the Volcom company (no idea why) but I kinda gave up on it. I found it a monthe later, went oo pretty! and promptly started to color it.

The character is Opal, my alter ego, and the scriible on the side is 'matabi,' or catnip in japanese. And the little circle scribble thing in the lower right is my signature: an 'O' colored in to look like an opal (somewhat, anyway ^^;)

Media: Sketch done with a 5H mechanical pencil. Final used prismacolors for the outlining, copics for the coloring, and a white Sakura gel pen and my fingertip for hilites ^_^ Smuging white ink is fun!

Opal copywrite ME! Nyah.
Opal: Um... actually I went out and copywrote myself just yesterday.
Policemen: Miss, I'm afraid you'll need to come with us...

ick, me too... my hand isn't steady enough. So instead, I use colored pencils ^_^ It looks softer... use darker versions of what you'll be colloring (that's what I did for matatabi) and if you are going to CG the pic, just use black and color it later on the comp. Tada! Looks nicer than 'inking' with a normal pencil, too. However, make sure you use a pencil with fairly hard lead with a dark line. Crayolas are actually pretty good for this, but DON'T USE PRISMACOLORS. They break all over the place -_-

Oh wow this is beautiful!! haha I remember having to do a volcom thingy for a school art project XD that thing sucked Anyways you really did a fantastic job in blending the different colors ^__^ Awesome job!
